From Discipline to Due Process

Understanding the Steps and Hurdles of Student Suspension and Expulsion This course explores how federal and state discipline requirements intersect with IDEA and Section 504, including manifestation determinations, changes of placement, FAPE obligations, and the use of positive behavioral supports. Through practical examples and case-based scenarios, learners will develop the skills needed to apply discipline policies consistently, equitably, and in compliance with the law. Approved for one (1) hour of Tennessee Academy for School Leaders (TASL) credit until June 30, 2026.
